"I gained a sense of leadership and the impact one person has
or can have on a community."
- Mattie Hogan, 2015 Alumni
Youth receive first-hand experience working in an office setting and often work on youth-driven advocacy campaigns, such as the Disability History Week Campaign and Taking Action for Accommodations. The YO! Volunteer Corps create connections for youth with adults with disabilities, as well as other youth volunteers. YO! Volunteer Corps members earn a stipend every month.
Meet a YO! Volunteer…
I decided to volunteer with RIL because I want to gain the skills necessary to work in an office setting as well as learn ways to help those around me. Whenever I get a chance, I'll read a book that interests me or hang out with my friends and family. I graduated in May with a Customer Service Certificate and I plan on finding a job soon. I'm a trustworthy hardworking person that is excited to learn more about myself and what I can accomplish as a YO! Volunteer.
