The Arc's National Center on Criminal Justice and Disability (NCCJD ® ) is seeking two interns to work full-time at our Washington, DC office this summer. We are seeking applicants who are current undergraduate or graduate students at an accredited university, have a demonstrated interest in public interest and/or social justice work, and have an interest in criminal justice and/or disability rights. Interns will work under the supervision of NCCJD's Senior Program Manager/Attorney for Criminal Justice Initiatives and will perform varied tasks, including the following:


  • Respond to information and referral questions by providing resources, information, consultation with attorneys, or otherwise answering questions from the general public

  • Conduct research on a variety of issues involving criminal justice and disability and assist in the development of resource sheets, info graphics, and databases

  • Help refine and conduct Pathways to Justice® trainings and other training curricula

  • Draft social media posts, press releases, blogs, etc.
